Welcome to AI Legal Assistant. By using this App, you agree to these Terms of Service. Please read them carefully.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using AI Legal Assistant ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the App.

2. Description of Service

AI Legal Assistant is a mobile application that provides Taiwan legal information reference using artificial intelligence (Google Gemini) technology. The App covers but is not limited to the following legal areas: labor disputes, rental disputes, traffic accident claims, consumer disputes, family law, criminal matters, and debt issues.

3. Important Disclaimer

All content provided by this App is for general legal information reference only. Use of this App does not create any attorney-client relationship.

• AI-generated responses do not constitute formal legal advice.
• AI responses may contain errors, incomplete, or outdated information.
• Do not use AI responses as the sole basis for any legal actions or litigation.
• All important legal decisions should be made in consultation with a licensed professional attorney.
• We are not responsible for any loss or damage arising from reliance on the App's AI responses.

3-1. Compliance with Lawyers Act Article 127

Under Article 127 of the Republic of China Lawyers Act, a person without a lawyer license who intentionally handles litigation matters for profit may be subject to legal penalties. This App:

• Provides general legal information, not formal legal advice for specific cases.
• Does not represent users in litigation, draft pleadings on behalf of users, or act as a legal agent.
• Does not charge legal service fees (subscription fees are for AI technology services, not legal representation or legal advice).
• Does not establish an attorney-client relationship with any user.
• AI responses do not constitute "handling legal matters" within the meaning of the Lawyers Act.

If you require formal legal representation or litigation assistance, please find a qualified attorney through the Legal Aid Foundation or local bar associations.

4. User Accounts

• You must be at least 18 years old to use the App.
• You may choose to use the App anonymously or sign in with Google/Apple accounts.
• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
• You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account.

5. Usage Limits

Free plan users have a daily limit on the number of questions. Upgrading to Premium membership provides up to 50 questions per day and an ad-free experience.

6. User Conduct

You agree not to:

• Use the App for any illegal or unauthorized purpose.
• Submit any threatening, harassing, or discriminatory content.
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the App or its systems.
• Interfere with or disrupt the operation of the App.
• Use automated tools to mass-query and abuse the service.
• Violate any applicable laws or regulations.
• Input third parties' personal data (such as another person's name, national ID number, or contact details) in your questions, to avoid violating the Personal Data Protection Act. When describing a situation, please use anonymous or pseudonymous descriptions.

7. Subscriptions and Payments

Some features require a paid subscription. Subscription terms and pricing are displayed in the App. Subscriptions are managed through Apple App Store or Google Play Store, and their respective terms apply.

• Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• You can manage or cancel subscriptions at any time through your device's store settings.
• Refunds are handled according to the respective store platform's refund policy.

8. Intellectual Property

The App and all its content, features, and design are the property of us or our licensors, protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. AI-generated responses do not constitute intellectual property of any party.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee that the App will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free. In particular, we make no warranty regarding the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of AI responses.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the App, including but not limited to damages arising from reliance on AI responses.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless AI Legal Assistant and its operators from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the App or violation of these Terms.

12. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the App at any time, with or without cause, with or without notice.

13. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.

14. AI Basic Act Compliance

In accordance with the Artificial Intelligence Basic Act (effective January 14, 2026), this App commits to:

• Transparency and Explainability: Users are clearly informed that responses are AI-generated, and the AI model used (Google Gemini 2.5 Flash) is disclosed.
• Human Autonomy: AI responses are for reference only. Final legal decisions rest with the user; the App does not make decisions on the user's behalf.
• Fairness and Non-discrimination: The AI system does not treat users differently based on race, gender, religion, political affiliation, or other protected characteristics.
• Accountability: The App developer takes responsibility for the operation of the AI system. Complaints may be submitted through the contact information at the bottom of this page.

15. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of China (Taiwan), without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
