This Privacy Policy describes how Crisis ("the App") collects, uses, and protects your information. Crisis is a geopolitical intelligence dashboard that aggregates publicly available news and displays them on an interactive map.

1. Information Collection

1.1 Anonymized Analytics

Crisis uses Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics to collect anonymized usage data. This includes:

• App usage patterns: Screen views, feature usage frequency, and session duration.
• Device information: Device model, OS version, and screen resolution.
• Crash reports: Stack traces and device state at time of crash (no personal data).

This data is used solely to improve the App's stability and user experience. It does not include personally identifiable information.

1.2 No Account Required

Crisis does not require user registration or login. No email addresses, names, or personal identifiers are collected.

1.3 No Location Data

Crisis does not access your device's GPS or location services. The map displays global events based on publicly reported coordinates, not your location.

2. Advertising

Crisis displays advertisements through Google AdMob. AdMob may collect device identifiers and usage data to serve relevant ads. You can manage your ad preferences through your device settings.

• On iOS, AdMob respects your App Tracking Transparency (ATT) preferences.
• On Android, you can opt out of personalized ads via Settings > Google > Ads.

3. In-App Purchases

Crisis offers optional premium features via in-app purchases. All transactions are processed by:

• Apple StoreKit (iOS) — See Apple's Privacy Policy.

We do not have access to your payment information.

4. Third-Party Content

Crisis aggregates news from third-party sources including Al Jazeera, BBC, Reuters, Yahoo Finance, and GDELT. Links to original articles may take you to third-party websites with their own privacy policies. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these external sites.

5. Map Data

Crisis uses map tiles provided by CARTO (based on OpenStreetMap data). Map boundaries are provided by OpenStreetMap contributors and may not reflect the political views of any government. The App does not endorse any political position regarding disputed territories.

6. Data Storage and Security

Anonymized analytics data is stored on Firebase servers (Google Cloud Platform) with industry-standard encryption. No personally identifiable data is stored. Cached news articles and map tiles are stored locally on your device and can be cleared at any time.

7. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share any user data with third parties except as described in this policy (Firebase Analytics, AdMob, and platform billing services).

8. Children's Privacy

Crisis is rated 12+ (iOS) / Teen (Android) due to its news content which may contain references to armed conflicts and military operations. The App does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 years of age.

9. International Users

Crisis is available worldwide. By using the App, you consent to the processing of anonymized data as described in this policy, regardless of your country of residence.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date.
