This Privacy Policy describes how ThreadMemo ("the App") collects, uses, and protects your information. ThreadMemo is a bookmarking and note-taking app that helps you save, organize, and revisit content shared from Threads and other sources.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Locally Stored Data

ThreadMemo is designed with an offline-first architecture. The following data is stored locally on your device:

• Bookmarked URLs, titles, and annotations you create.
• Tags, categories, and organizational preferences.
• App settings and preferences.

This data is stored in a local SQLite database on your device and is not transmitted to our servers unless you explicitly enable cloud sync.

1.2 Usage Data

We may collect non-personally identifiable usage data, including:

• App usage patterns and feature interactions.
• Device type, operating system version.
• Crash reports and performance data.

1.3 Advertising Data

To serve ads in the free version of the App, we and our advertising partners may collect:

• Advertising identifiers (IDFA on iOS, AAID on Android).
• General device information and app usage patterns for ad targeting.
• Approximate location data (country or region level).

On iOS 14.5+, we request your permission via Apple's App Tracking Transparency (ATT) framework before accessing the IDFA. You can change this at any time in your device's Settings. Premium subscribers do not see ads.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information to:

• Provide and maintain the ThreadMemo service.
• Improve app performance and user experience.
• Manage subscriptions and in-app purchases.
• Send important service notifications.

3. Third-Party Services

The App may integrate the following third-party services:

• Google Mobile Ads (AdMob): For serving advertisements in the free version. AdMob may collect device identifiers, usage data, and approximate location to deliver personalized or non-personalized ads. See Google Privacy Policy and AdMob data disclosure.
• Firebase: For analytics, crash reporting, and optional cloud sync. See Google Privacy Policy.

4. Data Storage and Security

Your bookmarks and notes are primarily stored locally on your device. If you enable cloud sync, your data is stored securely using Firebase with industry-standard encryption. We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your information against unauthorized access, alteration, or destruction.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We may share data only in the following circumstances:

• With your explicit consent.
• To comply with legal obligations.
• To protect the rights and safety of our users.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access your personal data.
• Request deletion of your account and data.
• Opt out of non-essential data collection.
• Withdraw consent for personalized advertising at any time via the Privacy Settings option in the app's Settings screen.

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you have additional rights under the GDPR, including the right to data portability and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

7. Children's Privacy

ThreadMemo is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date.
